April 14, 2012 - The Jimi Hendrix Foundation & Fender Guitars donate to Garfield High School.

Dear Friends of the James Marshall Hendrix Foundation,

We would like to report on the very successful event at Garfield High School, headed by Jerry O'Day.

I can't over exaggerate the importance of this event sponsored by Jerry O'Day, with the help of the Principal of Garfield High School, Marcus Tsudakawa, head of the Music Department, Ed Troyer, Producer of Washington Most Wanted, TV series, and the Great Lee Oscar of the Music Group WAR!

Music Monument Project and The Jimi Hendrix Foundation donated three Fender Stratocaster Guitars and equipment to Garfield High School's Music Department at their April 12th SPRING BREAK CONCERT!

The donation of Fender Guitars, donated by Fender, and Ed Troyer; was to comemmorate the the 1968 appearance of Jimi Hendrix and Pat O'Day, the iconic Disc Jockey, and Jimi's Manager, at Garfield, that went rather badly, because many of the students didn't know who Jimi was, or didn't like, or understand his music.

Pat's intention was to 'bring Jimi home', after he had became a success! Jimi was a Garfield dropout, it meant a lot to him to be accepted back here in Seattle, and especially his High School! It was a great idea, but the outcome then, hurt Jimi for the rest of his life!

During the presentation, Jerry O'Day mention to the audience, "did you know that Jimi Hendrix went to Garfield?" The audience roared back their approval and acknowledgement!!! JIMI IS BACK HOME, THANKS TO THE O'DAYS!!!

Representing the Foundation was: Myself, Charlie Hernandez, Gordon Shoji, Cliff Gustafson, Pernell (Alexander) Cherry, Terry Johnson.

A special thanks to Jerry O'Day, Lynn O'Day, Ed Troyer, Lee Oscar, and his assistant Terri.

There will be more information coming out soon, pictures, etc ect... Also coming out soon is an announcement being worked by myself and others called: THE BRIGHTER DAY INITIATIVE!!! I will explain later!

Best regards all.

April 1, 2012 - Stefen Isaac aka JYPSYEYE, of the Jimi Hendrix Foundation brings his friend, the renown Electric Lady Studios muralist on board, the artist Lance Jost!

Welcome aboard Mr. Lance Jost, it has been a long time in the making. The famous Electric Lady Mural, commissioned by Jimi Hendrix’ recording studio in Greenwich Village in New York City, New York, has recently received public acclaim. When asked to create the futuristic spaceship mural for the rock legend in 1970, Jost responded by producing the 100-foot long painting, which is now considered to be the “prime example of 60’s mural work,” according to Juxtapose Magazine. The recent April 2010 issue of Rolling Stone Magazine features Jimi’s input and involvement with the mural. Many great works will be forged from our partnership with Mr. Jost.
